We are currently seeking applications for a Therapy Assistant to join our disability team, working with the Transitional Accommodation Program (TAP) in Marangaroo.

This position is offered on a permanent part-time basis working 2 full days a week.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team under the direction and delegation of allied health professionals, Therapy Assistants provide assistance in all aspects of day-to-day care and individualised therapy, lifestyle and leisure programs to meet the needs of Brightwater Care Group clients.

Therapy Assistants support clients in therapeutic and recreational activities and provide feedback on clients’ health, wellbeing and progress to therapists to enable appropriate goal setting and program review.

Brightwater’s Transitional Accommodation Program is for people with an acquired neurological disability or complex care needs following a hospital stay. It’s a sanctuary designed to help people with a permanent disability build the skills required for daily living routines.

To be suitable for this role, you must possess:

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• The ability to prioritise your workload, problem solve, and work safely and efficiently under pressure without direct supervision.
• A positive, proactive and a client-focused approach
• A Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (or progress towards), or significant experience in a related setting and a willingness to undertake training.
• A ‘C’ class drivers’ licence and own a reliable car.
• A satisfactory National Police Clearance that is less than 12 months old
• A satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening check
• Evidence of up-to-date flu & COVID-19 vaccinations

Responsibilities include:

• Provision of goal directed therapy programs in accordance with their Care Plan in group or individual settings
• Provision of recreational based activities to meet the social and emotional needs of clients
• Contributing to the development of innovative therapy programs to improve the wellbeing of our clients
• Supporting volunteers to enhance the site therapy program
• Contributing to site reporting, accreditation standards and legislative compliance by completing all documentation and reporting incidents

We also have a similar position available for a Therapy Assistant for our CBP - Community (travel required) offering commencement immediately on a Permanent Part Time basis for 2 full days a week.
