This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Therapy Assistants to join The Cove site in Dudley Park, Mandurah on a permanent part-time basis. We also have work available at The Oaks site in Waikiki on a casual basis.

Whilst working as a Therapy Assistant you will be an important part of the multi-disciplinary team and provide assistance in all aspects of day-to-day care and individualised therapy, lifestyle and leisure programs. This role focuses on creating meaningful experiences, ensuring each day is the best it can be for our clients by promoting engagement, connection, and well-being.

The successful part-time candidates will be working at Brightwater The Cove; comprising 131 private rooms and providing care for a diverse group of residents, including those living with dementia. The successful casual candidate will be working at our 60 room The Oaks site in Waikiki.

The Cove site positions are being offered on a permanent part-time basis and details of the days/shifts to be covered in each role are below.

Position one The Cove (35 hours per fortnight):

Week one – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9.30am-1.30pm.

Week two – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9.30am-1.30pm and Wednesday 9.30am-5.00pm.

Position two The Cove (45 hours per fortnight):

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week 9.30am-5.30pm.

Position three The Oaks (casual):

This role will cover planned and unplanned leave at the site. Working hours of Therapy Assistants at The Oaks are 10am-2pm Monday to Friday.

To be suitable for this role, you must possess:

• Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance
• Experience working as a Therapy Assistant - essential
• Dementia care experience – viewed favourably
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
• A positive, proactive and client focused approach
• A satisfactory National Police Clearance that is less than one year old
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
• Western Australian Driver’s licence

Responsibilities include:

• Provision of goal directed therapy programs in accordance with Care Plan in group or individual settings
• Provision of recreational based activities to meet social and emotional needs
• Contribute to the development of innovative therapy programs to improve wellbeing
• Support volunteers to enhance the site therapy program
• Contribute to site reporting, accreditation standards and legislative compliance by completing all documentation and reporting incidents
