Brightwater is seeking a Senior Nursing Consultant to join our new Clinical Excellence Division based in our head office in Inglewood on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to the General Manager Education and Clinical Speciality, you will provide clinical leadership and expertise to drive evidence-based clinical practice and quality initiatives that promotes safe, efficient and high-quality care.

You will apply your advanced clinical knowledge and an in depth understanding of contemporary nursing practice to ensure adherence to quality clinical standards and provide advice and guidance on management of complex cases and support your colleagues within Brightwater.

Key Duties/Accountabilities:

  • Support the strategic direction planning, leadership and focus for safety, quality, clinical governance across Brightwater.
  • Provide expert advice to management through analysis and assessment of relevant trends and emerging issues.
  • Undertake   analysis of clinical incidents, clinical risks and clinical practice issues and provide briefings and develop reports to key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development of clinical performance review and evaluation systems and processes to support clinical safety and quality programs.
  • Contributes to the development of education and training programs

 

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in work related to the areas of quality, aged care / health with significant recent knowledge, experience and leadership relevant to this position.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Nursing
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Ahpra
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal   skills (including presentation and report writing skills), and the ability to influence, collaborate and engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, building successful relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to self-organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and plan and coordinate projects efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilise and present data for informing clinical initiatives and quality improvement strategies and to use information technology and systems effectively to effect changes in clinical practice.
  • Satisfactory compliance requirement that includes National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months
