Registered Music Therapist

We are currently seeking applications for a Registered Music Therapist to join our Music and Wellbeing Program services on a permanent part time basis working 30 hours per fortnigh. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team the successful incumbent will be responsible for providing quality, appropriate and relevant music therapy services to meet the needs of Brightwater clients in line with the goals and objectives of Brightwater's Music and Wellbeing Program.

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Be a Registered Music Therapist with the Australian Music Therapy Association
  • Registration, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (registration preferred)
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Demonstrated experience and competency as a RMT to identify referrals, assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in various environments with a diverse range of people
  • Strong person-centred skills in communicating and engaging with clients with high support needs including cognitive impairment, brain injury and dementia, and their families
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation Aged Care Act (1997); Aged Care Quality Standards (2019); and/or Disability Services Commission Standards (1988)
  • Current satisfactory National Police Certificate (obtained within the last 12 months)
  • Possess a current 'C' Class Driver's Licence as defined by the Department of Transport WA (DoTWA) 
  • Ability to provide own guitar and/or electronic piano (as preferred) for professional clinical practice
