The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to join our Technology Services team and provide both technical leadership and operational oversight across our engineering function.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Information Technology, you will lead a team of technical specialists while providing expert guidance across Brightwater's platform, cloud and infrastructure environments.

You will play a key role in shaping technology strategy, driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting project delivery and ensuring our technology platforms remain secure, scalable and aligned to organisational objectives.

This role has leadership responsibility for the:

• Platform Engineer
• Modern Workplace Engineer
• Systems Engineer

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Team.
• Providing technical leadership and escalation support across platform and cloud technologies.
• Contributing to Brightwater's IT strategy, roadmap and technology direction.
• Developing and maintaining technical standards, documentation and architectural practices.
• Supporting technology governance, risk management and compliance activities.
• Driving continuous improvement across infrastructure, cloud and operational processes.
• Working closely with project teams, stakeholders and external technology partners.
• Championing cyber security best practices and a zero-trust security mindset.
• Coaching, mentoring and developing engineering team members.

About You

You are a collaborative technology leader with strong technical capability and a passion for developing people and improving services.

To be successful, you will have:

• Extensive experience in engineering, infrastructure, platform or cloud-focused technology roles.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or coordinating technical teams.
• Strong knowledge of cloud, platform and modern infrastructure technologies.
• Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise technology environments.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• A proactive and outcomes-focused approach with the ability to balance operational priorities and strategic initiatives.

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business or a related discipline.
• Experience within aged care, disability, health or similarly regulated industries is highly regarded.

You will also need:

• A satisfactory National Police Clearance obtained in the last 12 months
• A valid driver’s licence as defined by the Department of Trasport WA (DoTWA)
