The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Community Support Worker on a casual basis with a view to moving to permanent employment within 3 month period, to provide personal care services for clients living in Innaloo, Osborne Park, Scarborough and Floreat areas.  We require you to live in and around these suburbs to be considered.

About the role:

You will be visiting our elderly clients in their own private homes, assisting them to live independently in the community by supporting them with day-to-day tasks, social access and sometimes just keeping them company. Each day is different with different needs and some of the duties include:

  • Delivering quality care and support by ensuring the holistic needs of our clients are met in accordance with their Care Plan and care package
  • Personal care including showering, dressing and continence care
  • Facilitating community access opportunities for our clients
  • Providing cleaning, laundry and meal preparation services
  • Completing documentation and reports

 

About you and what you will need: 

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care).
  • A First Aid Certificate (less than 3 years old) or willing to obtain within 2 weeks of commencement
  • Current valid driver’s licence to drive in Western Australia, as defined by the WA Department of Transport. (essential)
  • A reliable, insured car (essential)
  • A satisfactory National Police Clearance that is less than one year old
  • You are comfortable working on your own, and more importantly, care about our clients as much as we do
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • An empathetic and considerate nature and a client-focused approach
  • The ability to problem-solve and work flexibly without direct supervision
