The Opportunity

Brightwater is seeking an experienced and values-led General Manager Information Technology to lead the strategic direction, operational performance and continual improvement of our Information Technology function. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this senior leadership role will translate organisational and technology strategy into practical plans, service priorities and measurable outcomes that support reliable, secure and contemporary services across Brightwater.

In this role, you will lead the Service Delivery, Engineering and Technical Architecture functions, ensuring technology services are customer-focused, resilient, financially sustainable and aligned with the needs of our clients, staff and operations. You will work closely with senior leaders, business stakeholders, vendors and delivery teams to strengthen technology governance, service performance, workforce capability and operational readiness.

We are looking for a collaborative and commercially astute technology leader who can balance strategy with delivery, build trusted relationships, lead leaders, manage complex priorities and foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, innovation and continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring  

  • Significant senior leadership experience across Information and Communications Technology, including service delivery, infrastructure, engineering, architecture or enterprise technology services.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into operational plans, service improvements and measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading leaders, building team capability and creating a high-performance culture aligned to organisational values.
  • Sound financial, commercial, vendor and risk management experience within a complex service environment.
  • A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Information Systems or a related discipline; professional certifications such as ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, PRINCE2 or MSP will be highly regarded.
