We are currently seeking applications for a Senior Social Worker to join our select team on a permanent full time or part time basis around North and South of the river.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team the Senior Social Worker provides appropriate and relevant Social Work intervention and services to meet the needs of Brightwater At Home’s clients. Brightwater At Home services clients with Home care Packages, Commonwealth Home Support Packages and the Transitional Care Community program.


The Senior Social Worker’s role is to assess the client’s social situation and intervene appropriately in any situation relating to administration, guardianship, financial, and legal and/or advanced healthcare planning, within the community. The Social Worker also supports the client and their representatives in dealing with major life events, including any adjustment issues resulting from these events and subsequent psychosocial issues.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Membership, or eligibility for membership, with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (active
    membership preferred)
  • Strong commitment to providing safe high quality care
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in various environments with a diverse range of
    people
  • Demonstrated experience as a Social Worker to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and meet
    deadlines
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation; and where relevant, the Aged Care Act (1997)
    and/or Disability Services Commission Standards (1988) and the Guardianship and Administration Act (1990)
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of commencement
  • Current satisfactory National Police Certificate (obtained within the last 12 months)
  • Possess a current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s License and own a reliable car
  • Evidence of up to date flu vaccination
  • Satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening check - remove
