Rostering Officer – (RAC)

About the Role

Join Brightwater as a Rostering Officer and play a key role in supporting our Residential Aged Care (RAC) services through effective workforce scheduling. You’ll be responsible for coordinating staff rosters to ensure the right people are in place to deliver safe, high-quality care—while maintaining compliance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Working within a centralised rostering team, you will collaborate closely with Service Managers and frontline staff to respond to workforce needs in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate staff rosters aligned to operational needs  
  • Ensure rosters comply with enterprise agreements, awards, and budgets
  • Manage shift allocations, leave coverage, and roster changes
  • Liaise with sites to meet day-to-day staffing requirements
  • Maintain accurate data for payroll and reporting purposes
  • Monitor staffing trends and support workforce planning initiatives
  • Provide responsive support for staff queries and roster adjustments

About you

You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

You will bring:

  • Experience in rostering, scheduling, or workforce coordination
  • Strong understanding of awards/enterprise agreements (healthcare highly regarded)
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement ability
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confidence using rostering systems and Microsoft Office
  • A proactive, flexible, and customer-focused mindset
