The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Policy and Governance Officer to join our Clinical Excellence team on a permanent full-time basis in Inglewood.  

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, legislative requirements and internal governance controls, while supporting effective decision-making, risk management, audit readiness and continuous improvement across the organisation.

You will play a pivotal role in strengthening Brightwater’s governance framework through the development, implementation and review of organisational policies and governance systems, in the lead up to audit.

What you’ll bring  

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Proven experience in governance, policy management, compliance, reporting and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and work effectively with leaders and committees.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, including interpreting legislation, regulations and governance requirements.
• Knowledge of contemporary governance principles, including accountability, risk management, delegations, assurance and internal controls.
• Experience developing and reviewing policies, frameworks and governance documentation.
• Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good knowledge of the aged care and disability sectors and associated legislation, governance obligations and accreditation requirements (desirable).
• Working knowledge of the Work Health & Safety Act 2020 (WA) (desirable).
• A recent and satisfactory National Police Clearance.
