Summary:

Brightwater is seeking an immediately available Accounts Assistant to support our Finance Team amidst a period of parental leave. This opportunity will be available on a fulltime fixed term basis until 6 July 2026.

Role:

In this role, you will be providing robust, contemporary and comprehensive financial management assistance to key stakeholders in line with our organization's objectives and mission. This role will see you maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger as well as participate in standard month end reporting processes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reconciling all back accounts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Ensuring petty cash and back records are reconciled and recouped as required
  • Completing scheduled reconciliations of general ledger control and asset/ liability accounts.
  • Ensuring receipts and payments are reflected accurately within the General Ledger, including the appropriate allocation of all funding and claim transactions.
  • Assisting in the preparation of month end financial reporting including processing of journals, creating accruals and verifying the integrity of information within the General Ledger.
  • Supporting and participate in financial and funding acquittal audits.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications in Business or Accounting
  • Significant experience within a relevant or similar role.
  • High level of attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with a focus in building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office Suite)
  • Knowledge of Epicor and SAP Concur is highly desirable.
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months.
