This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Therapy Assistant to join our dedicated team at Oxford Gardens on a casual basis. We also welcome applications from new graduates seeking to build their experience and further their career.

Located near Lake Joondalup, Brightwater Oxford Gardens provides high-quality care for people with a range of needs, including advanced dementia and complex care requirements.

The role focuses on creating meaningful experiences and making each day the best it can be for our clients by promoting engagement, connection and wellbeing.

As a Therapy Assistant, you will be a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting all aspects of day-to-day care and the delivery of individualised therapy, lifestyle and leisure programs.

The ideal candidate will have at least 12 months’ experience as a Therapy Assistant, preferably supporting people living with dementia.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance, or current progress towards this qualification
  • Experience working as a Therapy Assistant, including in dementia-specific care
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • A positive, proactive and client-focused approach
  • A satisfactory National Police Clearance issued within the past 12 months
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering goal-directed therapy programs in accordance with clients’ care plans, in group or individual settings
  • Providing recreational activities that support clients’ social and emotional needs
  • Contributing to the development of innovative therapy programs that enhance wellbeing
  • Supporting volunteers to enhance the site’s therapy program
  • Supporting site reporting, accreditation requirements and legislative compliance by maintaining accurate documentation and reporting incidents promptly
