We are currently seeking applications for a Senior Social Worker to join our allied health team on a permanent part time basis, to support our TCP site in Innaloo!

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Senior Social Worker provides appropriate and relevant social work intervention and services to meet the needs of Brightwater’s residential clients.  Additionally, the role includes the supervision of social workers within the residential care team, and the Senior Social Worker reports through to Coordinator, Allied Health.

 

The Senior Social Worker’s role is to assess the client’s social situation and intervene appropriately in any situation relating to administration, guardianship, financial, and legal and/or advanced healthcare planning. The Social Worker also supports the client and their representatives in dealing with major life events, including any adjustment issues resulting from these events and subsequent psychosocial issues. 

 

What we're looking for:

  • Membership, or eligibility for membership, with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (active membership preferred)
  • Strong commitment to providing safe high-quality care
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in various environments with a diverse range of people
  • Demonstrated experience as a Social Worker to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation; and where relevant, the Aged Care Act (1997) and/or Disability Services Commission Standards (1988) and the Guardianship and Administration Act (1990).
  • A First Aid Certificate (less than 3 years old) + CPR if more than 12 months old
  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate (less than 12 months old)
  • A Western Australian driver’s License and own a reliable car
