Onslow Gardens is seeking reliable and experienced Kitchen Assistants to join our team. At Brightwater residential aged care, these roles are known as Hotel Services Multi-Skilled positions.

Located in the heart of Subiaco, Brightwater Onslow Gardens provides high-quality care for people with a diverse range of needs, including dementia-specific care.

To be considered for this position, candidates must have previous kitchenhand experience.

This is a part-time position working Thursdays from 6:30 am to 2:00 pm in both Week 1 and Week 2 of the roster.

About the Role

This hands-on role supports the delivery of essential services across our facility, including kitchen, cleaning and laundry duties.

Key Responsibilities and Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within aged care or a comparable setting
• Experience performing duties in a commercial kitchen
• Knowledge of cooking and food preparation, including safe food handling and presentation
• Sound understanding of food safety practices, including temperature control and food danger zones
• Familiarity with the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) framework and levels
• Experience providing cleaning and/or laundry services
• A caring and positive approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting older people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to prioritise tasks, perform effectively under pressure and solve problems confidently

Mandatory Requirements

• Flexibility to work across weekdays and weekends, as required
• A current National Police Clearance issued within the past 12 months
• A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
