We have an exciting new opportunity for a Disability Support Worker - Advance Skills with significant experience to work across all our disability sites. You will be based at our Oats Street site located in East Victoria Park.

 

This position forms part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides quality care, support, and assistance to clients of Brightwater Care Group in accordance with individualised client Care/Support Plans to ensure optimal service provision that actively promotes choice, independence and quality of life in a safe and homelike environment. This position is responsible for coaching and mentoring other Disability Support Workers and may also be called on to manage a portfolio and/or coordinate services.

 

The ideal candidate will be someone with great availability and willing to be rostered to work at any available times required, with opportunity to work at some of our other sites as well.

To be suitable for this role, you must possess:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care/Disability/Individualised Support or similar.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to deliver safe high quality care.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in various environments and the ability to inclusively communicate with a diverse range of people.
  • Proven customer-focused work ethic, strong commitment to Brightwater’s Mission and the Brightwater Spirit.
  • Strong person-centred skills and behaviours in communicating and engaging with clients with high support needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and use resources effectively, safely and efficiently.
  • Good understanding of Quality and Safeguarding principles in disability care service delivery and National Disability Standards, with working knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation.
  • First Aid Certificate less than 3 years old (desirable).
  • Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months.
  • A satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening check
